Maple Wood
The maple tree is unique for many reasons. Not only does it provide us with maple syrup (YUM), it’s also the source of some of the most beautiful & versatile wood. With around 128 different species, you’re sure to find a piece of maple that tickles your fancy.
At Stationhouse Studio, we use a variety of sustainably sourced maple, such as spalted, burl, & birds’ eye.

Did you know?

Certain maple species have hallow trunks, which make them a great living space for small animals. Kind of like an apartment building for birds.
Some maple trees can live for hundreds of years!
The fruit on maple trees are called samaras, often referred to as “maple keys“, “helicopters“, or “whirlybirds". These little helicopters spin as they fall and carry the seeds a long distance in the wind.
The maple is a common symbol of strength and endurance and has been chosen as the national tree of Canada.
